One-dimensional (1D) nanomaterials have attracted much attention due to their unique fundamental properties and their potential applications in nanodevices. Nanoscale materials, compared to their bulk dimensions, can possess superior electrical, optical, and mechanical properties, resulting in excellent mechanical toughness, high luminescence efficiency, enhancement of thermoelectric property and low lasing threshold voltage. Our lab is comment on the discovery of novel nanomaterials, the fundamental understanding of the unique properties of these nanomaterials, and the assembly of these nanoscale building blocks for novel electrical, opto-electrical, biological device applications. We also have many collaborators in the world. The current research directions we are conducing, including (1) Syntheses of energy materials and its applications in solar energy harvesting, (2) Performance enhancement of Resistive change memory, (3) Synthesis of graphene and its application in nanodevices, and development of desalination from sea water.
